According to government requirements children complete Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs) at the end of each Key Stage in Reading, Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar and Maths. Children either meet or do not meet the test standard. Children are also given a teacher assessment for Writing.
At the end of Key Stage 1 (6-7 year olds) the tests are used for information as part of an overall teacher assessment for each subject when making a judgement as to whether a child has met the expected standard. Children who are performing at an exceptionally high level may be deemed as working at greater depth.
At the end of Key Stage 2 (10-11 year olds) children's test results determine whether the standard has been met or not. Working at greater depth can only be given in the teacher assessment for Writing.
Our School achieves a consistently high level of attainment and progress across all groups of children. We have high expectations of all our children and differentiate teaching to enable all learners, whatever their abilities, to make progress; many of our children exceed their expected progress between Key Stages.
