Curriculum
Based on the context of our socially and culturally diverse community, we have developed a curriculum that is driven by the need to support our children as lifelong learners, and believe that equity for all learners is the basis to achieve this. As a result, our curriculum offer is rich, broad and ambitious for all, focusing on the essential skills, knowledge and understanding needed to thrive in their lives now and in later life. Part of this endeavour is met by the significant focus on school trips and using the outside environment to enrich the life experiences of the children we teach and develop their aspirations.
Our curriculum not only encompasses National Curriculum requirements, but places a significant emphasis on physical health, mental wellbeing, PSHE and digital citizenship, as well as enabling learners to deliberately practise key skills for learning across all areas of the curriculum: independence, collaboration, resilience, reflection, critical thinking and creativity.
Our curriculum offer is underpinned by our Christian ethos that focuses on core values of Trust, Endurance, Justice and Compassion. This is further enhanced by our status as Gold UNICEF UK Rights Respecting School, which permeates our corridors, classrooms, playgrounds and school community, helping children to take responsibility for their actions and be respectful and resilient learners.
If you require any further information about our school's curriculum, please contact the school office.
